Rink Setup/Teardown

RINK SETUP UPDATE: FRIDAY, 10/26

Ice building has gone well this week and it looks like it will be ready for skating Sunday.  The glass is mostly up and the netting should be up sometime Saturday.  Should be ready to kick off the regular practice schedule next week.  Watch for team emails.

There are a few other tasks to finish up, so see below for details and schedule.  Also, be sure to check here for updates.

WORK SCHEDULE

  • SATURDAY, 10/27     9:00AM - 12:00PM
  • SUNDAY, 10/28     12:00PM - 5:30PM
  • NEXT WEEK     DURING PRACTICE AS NEEDED

PRIMARY TASK LIST

  • Finish putting up glass.
  • Install aluminum channel for glass to sit in.
  • Hang netting.
  • Install Visitor locker room doors, lights/heaters, insulation.
  • Put up penalty box glass.
  • Assemble player benches.
  • Bring in bleachers.
  • Put up Zam wall.
  • Lay out remaining mats in rink area.
  • Do lots of cleaning and organizing.

THINGS WE COULD USE

  • Assorted tools (wrenches, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.).
  • Electric or cordless screw guns/impact wrenches with nut drivers (especially 3/8", 7/16", and 1/4").
  • Step ladders.

On days you come out to work be sure to write down your hours.  There will be a clipboard on the concession stand counter.  Simply find the sheet for the team your skater is playing on, write his/her name in the left column, and start filling in the columns to the right with the date and total number of hours worked.

It is not necessary to fill out multiple lines if more than one person shows up - just add up the hours.  If Mom and Dad each put in two hours then put down four hours for that date.  It is also not necessary to track hours for each skater in your family - just pick one.

Thanks, and look forward to seeing everyone at the rink.
